Reference of delivery of DWH migration to new HW for Raiffeisenbank

RBCZ decided for external cooperation in the field of integration and optimization of all HW and SW components for the needs of running the RBCZ DWH solution, as the existing solution was nearing the end of the support cycle. Based on the winning tender, a project was created between RBCZ and GEM System, the goal of which was the complete implementation of the migration of the existing Raiffeisenbank data warehouse to new hardware and upgrading the running environment of the Oracle database to the latest stable version. Based on the customer's requirements, GEM System had the role of integrator in the project, when it was fully responsible for project implementation, consulting and management activities, and the delivery of expert capacities.

HPE Superdome for the needs of migration of the existing RBCZ data warehouse, which was delivered to two used data centers. The new HW is ready for the operation of mathematically demanding computing operations and is suitable for deploying applications such as Oracle or SQL.

The Red Hat operating system is installed on both sites Enterprise Linux. From a software perspective, it was necessary to install the HPE Foundation Software ISO Image for HPE Superdome Flex Servers Family. As part of virtualization, the Linux virtualization tool Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) was used. Another realization was the expansion of the disk array from the Hitachi G600 to the Hitachi G5500. From the database point of view, the DB was upgraded from Oracle 12 to Oracle 19, including performance optimization corresponding to the KPI mentioned in the documentation. According to the agreed project plan, a complete one-time migration (including Oracle 19) of the production environment and test environments took place using the Autoupgrade method.
